Thomasboro, Illinois Sondra "Sonnie" J. Davis 1940 — 2022 Sondra "Sonnie" J. Davis, 82, of Thomasboro, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at her home. She was born on July 12, 1940, in Mansfield, Ohio to Edward and Ruth (Boyle) Davis. Sonnie was a lifelong teacher in the Champaign Urbana School District. She was a member of the Midwest Kennel Club where she served as a steward and held various administrative positions including President and Vice President. She absolutely loved dogs and was involved with many dog shows from Illinois to California. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Davis; and sister, Jerri (Virgil) Shafer. Jake was born on July 7, 1936 in Lawrenceville, IL to the late Harold Dale and Dorothy Magdeline (Lockhart) Jacobs. Jake graduated from Vincennes Lincoln High School and attended Vincennes University and Ambassador Institute of Travel. He served in the United States Marine Corps and took part in the 2018 Honor Flight. He retired from SBC after 38 years. Jake was a member of Bell Pioneers, Bell Conservation Club, Kentucky Colonels, National Arbor Foundation and Board of Trustees, Audubon Society and American Baptist East Church. She was a past member of The First Christian Church in Parkersburg, West Virginia and was a member of Morningside Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Evansville. Anna was a member of The Order of Eastern Star #14 and The White Shrine. She loved to knit and doing plastic canvas crafts.
